[STR010] Backend Developer

Your role
  • Your main focus will be in the research, design, write and test of new software, creating and defining technical specifications as well as test plans.
  • You will be expected to maintain systems by monitoring, identifying and correcting software defects.
  • Contribute to test implementation, managing subsystem development with guidance of a technical lead
  • Share knowledge and support clients/colleagues concerning the maintenance and performance of software systems.
  • Proactively reflect on processes, tools and methodologies and suggest improvements, taking ownership of challenges and offering solutions.
  • Foster and comply with our standards and processes such as SCRUM, Kanban, and extreme
  • Attend and contribute to relevant team meetings, planning sessions, reviews, retrospectives and circle meetings.
  • Work alongside team members in mob or pair programming sessions to ensure tasks are completed and goals met.
  • Actively pursue learning opportunities to ensure up to date with relevant technology, methodology and processes
You bring in
  • Relevant experience with JVM languages, mainly Java 8 or higher, Scala, Kotlin or Groovy.
  • Feel comfortable writing scripts with Bash or using Python.
  • Experience with data consumption from a NoSQL Database, ideally Couchbase.
  • Implementation experience with Apache Kafka as an event streaming platform, within a CQRS approach for the software architecture design.
  • Experience working with AWS as cloud provider and specially its Docker related services, ECS, and Lambda. 
  • Writing meaningful unit tests is something that you expect for a software to reach a high quality. 
  • Experience working with Jenkins for deployment  and Prometheus/Grafana for systems monitoring.
  • Habituated to work in an agile environment, using agile methodologies like Kanban.
  • You are fluent in English (written and spoken)
